Do you teach using video? If you do, or if you’re thinking about it, you should know about Kaltura, the video delivery system used by the college for serving up videos of all kinds for use in the curriculum. Kaltura works in conjunction with Moodle and allows you to upload videos of up to 2GB to your Moodle site. (Videos larger than 2GB can be uploaded by IS staff.)The Kaltura plug-in for Moodle not only lets you upload previously digitized videos, but facilitates screen recording and recording via your webcam. Kaltura can be used to provide students 24/7 access to video clips of documentaries or feature films, PowerPoint slideshows, or YOU delivering a lecture. Contact your Instructional Technology liaison for more information, or to get started using Kaltura.
