It’s the first week of school and one of your first tasks as an instructor is to figure out a way to learn all those new students’ names. While there are lots of tricks for learning student names, one useful tool is built right into Moodle, the Roster report. Even if you’re not using Moodle for your class, you can use Moodle to help you to match student names and faces.
To access the Roster report, click the gear icon in the upper right and select More…
Select Roster under the Reports section.
The roster report appears with the names and faces of the members of the course. Clicking the Learning Mode button in the upper left will toggle the names on and off so that you can test yourself.
Give it a try! If you have questions or need help with Moodle, contact Diane or Kate.
Hi there–are these the same photos that were taken when they first arrived at Conn or do they get updated annually? Some students’ appearances change A LOT lol Cathy Stock
Good question! And unfortunately, no, they don’t get updated regularly. So for many students, those photos might be a couple of years out of date. The first year photos should look pretty accurate, though!
