With more and more journal subscriptions moving online, it is difficult for scholars to browse recent research as they once did. A new app, Browzine, aims to solve this problem.
The library is running a trial of BrowZine, a new tablet application (iOS & Android) that allows you to browse, read and follow scholarly journals in a format optimized for your iPad or Android tablet (soon Apple and Android smartphone). See the screenshots below, and to learn more, take a look at this short “BrowZine on Campus” video.
Give it a try and let us know if you like it!
To access the trial…
- From your iPad (please note that BrowZine works best on iPad 2 or later), download BrowZine from the App Store and install it.
- When you open BrowZine for the first time, you will see a list of schools, select Connecticut College; then, enter your ID and Password.
- Select the subject areas and start browsing!
Send feedback (positive and negative!) to your library liaison. Access to Connecticut College’s content in Browzine will cease on December 31st when trial ends, but you may continue to access their collection of open access journals.
