We haven’t posted about Wikipedia assignments in several years (5?!), but we’ve had a lot of questions and interest recently. So when I saw this in my inbox yesterday from Helaine Blumenthal at Wiki Education, I needed share it with you. If you are interested in Wikipedia assignments, read her message below and sign up! Need some encouragement? Read Ariella Rotramel’s blog post about her positive experiences with Wiki Education.
“Help improve the world’s largest online encyclopedia this Fall by running a Wikipedia assignment. Energize your students by having them do work with real-world impact. Tackle digital literacy and misinformation head-on and ensure that Wikipedia has the most up-to-date content in your field of expertise.
The program is open to all post-secondary institutions in the U.S. and Canada, and there are no fees to run a Wikipedia assignment. We provide robust support so faculty and students learn how to navigate Wikipedia and make lasting contributions.
